Is South Beach tan a sunless tanning product?

South Beach Tan is not a 100% sunless tanning product, however as it dramatically boosts the natural & protective skin darkening pigment in your skin known as melanin, you will develop a deep natural tan in a tiny fraction of the time you would normally need to spend in the sun. The other added benefit is that you will be protected from the suns harsh UV rays and you will no longer burn red. Only brief & safe periods of sun exposure is recommended.

Be cautious of too much sun exposure whilst using South Beach Tan, as you can tan very dark.

How do I use South Beach tan?
South Beach Tan is used like a conventional nasal spray. Please refer to the instructions tab on this website.
Will South Beach tan work for my skin type?

South Beach Tan works for all skin. So long as you have melanocytes in your body, i.e. the skin cell that produces the protective skin-darkening pigment melanin, South Beach will work for you. Please see “My Skin Type” to see exactly how it will work for you.

How long will my tan last if I stop using South Beach Tan?
Your tan will fade very slowly, unlike a natural tan which fades fast. Some users keep their tan for three months after stopping use – this is also pending on how long you have been using the South Beach tanning nasal spray and how much natural sun you are exposed to.
What if I can’t take the product 3 times a day whilst loading?
As the product needs to be kept refrigerated, it is not ideal for some users to take it three times a day. In this instance, you can increase your morning or evening dose. Alternatively, skip the afternoon dose all together, your tan will just take a little longer to develop but it will still be just as effective.
Why would I use this product instead of self-tanner?
Self tanning products are a great quick-fix to get an instant tan for a once off, special event. However, unless you opt for a professional spray tan solution in a tanning salon, your self-tan may come out uneven especially around the hands and feet when you apply it yourself at home. Even the best self tanner will rub and wash off unevenly after a few days. South Beach tan is for people that wish to keep a long lasting natural looking tan all year around. It is essentially a self tanner that works from the inside out. You can still use self tanning lotion or self tanning cream whilst using South Beach tan if you wish.
Why would I use this product instead of sunbeds?

What tanning salons might not tell you is that sunbeds are no safer than exposure to the sun itself. The UV rays from sunbeds can also damage the DNA in your skin cells, and over time this damage can build up to cause skin cancer. Making use of a sunbed before you go on holiday doesn’t protect against further damage caused whilst holidaying in the sun. On the other hand, using South Beach Tan will actually protect your skin from damage and prevent sun burn in the sun and on sunbeds. If you use sunbeds regularly, then South Beach Tan will dramatically reduce the number of sessions you need to develop a beautiful tan. By reducing the amount of time that you spend in the sun, you minimise the chance of developing skin cancer.

Why would I use this product instead of tanning tablets?

The main downside to most tanning pills on the market today is the presence of canthaxanthin which can cause allergic reactions . When you ingest canthaxanthin in the high concentration found in these tanning products, the colour that appears on your skin is orange or brownish-yellow, much different from the beautiful natural tan colour you would get using South Beach Tan. South Beach Tan results come from boosting the natural melanin in your skin unlike other fake tan products.

What is the difference between Melatonin and Melanin?
Both, Melanin and Melatonin are the chemical substances found in living organisms which are responsible for several function in the body. Their functions, existence and synthesis are a lot different to each other but people often get confused while using they have quite a similar pronunciation. Melanin is the pigment that is produced by the melanocytes that determine the skin colour and work as a shield against the UV rays, which can cause skin cancer. On the other hand, Melatonin is the hormone, which is produced by the pineal gland. It regulates the modulation of wake/sleep patterns. A lack of of melatonins can cause sleeping disorder deep, whereas lack of melanin can cause skin cancer.
What other products do South Beach offer besides the tanning nasal spray?

What is Melatonin 2?
There is no such thing as Melatonin 2. However Melanotan 2 also known as Melanotan-11 or MT2 is used for tanning.

I’ve just got back from my cruise.  Your product works. I normally burn easily. I burn red before I go brown and then my tan disappears completely in just a few days.  Your product was a lifesaver. "I have a typical European skin. Its whiter than white. I tried one bottle of South Beach Tan last year about 2 weeks before a family photo shoot in mid December. I was advised that I needed a minimum two bottles for my fair skin but I thought I would give it a bash and throw in 3 or 4 sunbed sessions. My overall colour definitely changed even though I only used the South Beach for about 10 days or so. I never went brown but my colour looked healthier, better than pale white.
